When we think of loss, often times we think in terms of losing someone very dear to us. However, there are other kinds of losses that can be just as debilitating to our Spiritual growth.
When we create false information about a person to satisfy our own insecurities, we lose our own self-worth. Our insecurity plays out in different forms in order to feed our egos. Great Mystics define this self as our altered ego. This is why so many advanced souls speak of meditation as a way to go beyond self and connect to the true essence of who we are. We put so much pressure on ourselves to do it all, when all we can do, is live in the present moment. A concept most of us forget. You tell yourself you will only take care of what is in front of you this day, yet, our minds tend to wander to the future, or often times, to the past. Take note of how you spend your day. It will surprise you.
